Meet the Blogger
You've heard the old saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results being the definition of chaos, right? That's what I'm seeing in the world of beekeeping. Money goes into research looking for a magic button to cure the Honey Bee once and for all. Meanwhile, we spray chemicals all over the place, 'medicate' beehives with harsh chemicals and even feed them pesticide laden corn syrup. This is called Bad Beekeeping-and what's worse-most beekeepers are doing it!
Looking for a cure in all the wrong places is what I call: Barking up the wrong Bee

I'm a Beekeeper
I've been in beekeeping since 2002. I've worked thousands of hives and seen what works and what doesn't. I can't imagine not having a beehive around to poke my nose into (most of the time with a veil on ;) I've been stung more than once and sometimes even deserved it.

I'm a woodworker
Yup, I build all the wooden ware that my beehives need. I use specialized equipment that helps the bees do what they do. Most beekeepers do not use this equipment. I really enjoy making it myself plus it keeps costs down too!

I'm a blogger too!
I guess you figured this one out already. I'm the beekeeper behind the blog. I feel very strongly about what I call 'stupidity' in the world of beekeeping management. As a result, some of my topics can be fairly controversial.

I'm a permaculturist
My wife and I own a piece of property in the North Georgia mountains. In conjunction with my beehives, I enjoy learning more about what plants support them and my area in general. The idea is getting everything in a system to work for the greater good.
Buzz buzz!

...and a photographer
99% of the macro shots on this website are credited to myself, Jonathan Hargus. I seriously enjoy discovering plants that my bees are foraging from.
